Why I started this

I spent over a decade working in data and financial systems for large organizations before I started Akili. I saw the same thing over and over at that scale: good decisions come from clean, trustworthy numbers. Bad ones come from guessing.

Small businesses deserve that same rigor, without the enterprise price tag or the jargon. That's why I built Akili — structured bookkeeping, explained in plain English, from someone who actually looks at your books every month.

Good to know

Do I need to have my books cleaned up first?

That's normal — most people come to me a little behind. If there's catch-up work needed, I'll quote a flat one-time fee before we start (kept simple: $200 per month of backlog), then we move to the regular $250/month once you're caught up.

What if I'm not on QuickBooks yet?

That's fine — I'll help you get set up as part of onboarding, mapped to how your business actually runs.

Are you taking new clients right now?

Yes — I'm currently taking on new clients. Reach out and we'll set up a call to see if it's a good fit.

What if my business doesn't fit — inventory, payroll, multiple entities?

I'll tell you honestly and point you toward someone who's a better fit. No point in a relationship that doesn't serve you.
